Dembélé: 'We Have a Mission in the USA' — France's Best Player Hungers for World Glory
Ballon d'Or, Champions League, FIFA Best — now Dembélé wants the only trophy he's missing.
Fresh off the best year of his career, Ousmane Dembélé has just one thing left on his list: the World Cup.
After winning the Ballon d'Or, the Champions League, and the FIFA Best Player award in 2025, Dembélé is channeling everything into France's bid to win a third world title this summer.
"We know what it takes to go all the way, and we'll do everything to bring the trophy home," he told CNN Sports. "We know we have a mission in the United States."
Alongside Mbappé, Dembélé will be the driving force of a reinvented Les Bleus — a team that has moved on from its veterans and is built around a hungry, talented core. The painful defeat in the 2022 final against Argentina still hasn't been erased. The chance for redemption on American soil this summer is something he has no intention of letting slip.
